Preparation for Confirmation should lead the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a deepened familiarity with the Holy Spirit in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. Therefore, catechesis for Confirmation should strive to awaken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church as well as the parish community. Confirmation is a sacrament of maturity not in the chronological sense but in the sense of spiritual fullness, since Confirmation seals the person with the gift of the Holy Spirit.
At Ss. Peter and Paul, we offer Confirmation preparation to eligible candidates who are Juniors or Seniors in high school and members of our parish or of St. Joseph’s in Fayette. We use contemporary materials offered by Dynamic Catholic and the program is called Decision Point. Each candidate will receive a Decision Point workbook and a Catholic Bible to support them in their preparation. Parents and sponsors may wish to sign up for regular communications from Decision Point to support their child throughout the program.
The 2015-16 confirmation class is meeting the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month from September through the end of March, with the Confirmation Mass being held this year on May 10th at 7:00PM.
The program consists of:
- Preparation classes (14 total)

- Service Projects/Activities to benefit our parish and community
- Written work – 20 questions/3 Saint biographies
- Confirmation Retreat attendance (Late Feb/Early March) in Jeff City
